MineralTech SL

MineralTech-SL is a staurolite mineral abrasive that contains less than 1% free crystalline silica. This abrasive is dark brown / reddish brown in color with a bulk density of 130 lbs. per cubic foot. The particles are sub-angular, and the hardness is 7 to 7.5 on the mohs hardness scale.

This product is commonly used in the industrial painting market, and can be purchased in bulk pneumatic tankers, 4400 lb. bulk bags, 2200 lb. bulk bags, and 55 lb. paper sacks.

MineralTech-SL Application Chart

MineralTech-SL is a general purpose abrasive typically used when light to moderate coating removal is needed. The fine grain size and hardness will achieve a uniformed profile at great cleaning speeds, while remaining low in dusting during production. The sub angular grains allow for a cleaner more refined finish with less embedment, usually resulting in a near white to white blast finish. This product can be recycled and is used frequently in blast rooms, and blast cabinets.
